Corrective Action / Preventive Action Module
The Corrective Action module can be used to capture a problem, investigate the cause, propose and approve a solution, and then follow up on that solution to ensure it worked.
The key concept here is that you are looking to correct the cause of the problem. With a corrective action the problem has already occurred, and your action is designed to prevent it from happening again.
A preventive action identifies the potential for a future problem, and takes action to prevent it’s occurrence in the first place.
With this module you can:
- Completely customize three trending categories and their list of characteristics to track information about corrective and preventive actions.
- Attach other documents or link to the Events module when needed to support the implementation of the action.

- Link CAR to a vendor or customer, and provide the corresponding back link from the Contact Management module.
- E-mail the corrective action to a vendor or a customer.
- Assign responsibilities for:
- Managing the CAR
- Investigating the CAR
- Reviewing and Approving the Action
- Implementing the Action
- Export due dates and the description of actions needed your MS Outlook calendar.
- Link the Corrective Action module to your own procedure on corrective actions.
- Enable Chronology Tracking and have The Lean Machine automatically document the significant milestone events as the CAPA record is completed.
